Part 1 of a three part series ‘The Survivor’s Guide to Work’ for BBC World.
What I like about this film, and what I liked about working with the director, was that she new exactly what she wanted. My job was to stretch it somewhat from the news format that she brought to it having year’s of experience cutting two-minute films for ‘Breakfast’ on BBC1. We had great fun. And I think she particularly enjoyed seeing how you can take an idea and, given a little bit of time and nimble fingers, take it up several levels.
The director was Jane Bennett-Powell, Series Producer Mallary Gelb.
I supplied archive for the programme – train tracks and views out of the window shot in 2004 en-route from Amsterdam to Munich.
